The Visagraph® III is the latest development from Taylor, spanning 70 years, beginning with the Opthalmograph, later the Reading Eye I and II and the Visagraph® I and II. The College of Optometrists in Vision Development (COVD) supports the objective evaluation of the eye movements involved in reading by instrumentation such as the Taylor Visagraph®.
How it Works
An examiner places the goggles on a student’s head and adjusts them in relation to the student’s pupils. The student then reads a short selection from a test booklet and answers questions to determine his/her comprehension. Simulation of a student’s eye-movements over text, multiple reports and data presentations are then auto-generated. These provide insight as to the foundational visual and perceptual skills that determine the ease, comfort and efficiency with which a student reads. If the student is engaged in a Reading Plus® course of study, multiple recordings can be taken as various milestones are reached to document the changes that are taking place in these foundational skills.
